Every year my husband Trent has a Christmas gift theme. Last year was "cooking" and he got me recipe books and cooking gadgets. This years' theme was "vintage". He got me two beautiful antique dolls. The small one is from the 1930's (?) and the bigger one is from the 1920's. About a week before Christmas I got on Etsy to look for a vintage doll for my daughter and found some of the most beautiful composition baby dolls. I was about to buy this one for myself. ( I still might.) Trent noticed me swooning and sighing whenever I saw one. He convinced me not to buy any of them though.  He later sneaked out to the local antique store and bought these two lovelies for me, and I remained clueless the whole time ;) Both my dolls are made out of composition , which is super awesome.  The bigger one cries when you lean it forward and closes it's eyes when you lean it back.  Hi everyone I hope you all had a great Christmas!! I am excited to share a little doll I crocheted for my sons first birthday. I always make a doll for my kids for their first birthday.  I made the lion mint green to go along with his mint party theme and I love how he turned out!  I especially love the felt heart. :)

My baby boy turned one Tuesday, so we threw him a little party.  My inspiration was a little red and white striped outfit I have been wanting to make for some time. I wanted him to wear it for his birthday pictures and the party stemmed from that into a mint theme. Green mint frosting and red and white striped peppermint decorations. We made the party hats way last minuet and they ended up adding so much to the party.

My glittered felt Christmas trees are being featured over at Felt-o-rama today! :) Felt-o-rama is such a great place to be inspired and find great projects to make with felt. And not only that but they sell felt too! (You all might have already known this but I first discovered the blog and then later realized they also sold felt.)  Not to long after posting my felt flower tutorial I noticed a lot of traffic on my blog coming from there. I went to the site and discovered a humongous list in the side bar full of amazing crafts to make with felt!  Mine was in the list of different felt flowers. There are so many great ideas over there, you definitely have to check it out!

 This little guy is now available available to purchase in my Little Lolas shop! Listing him this close to Christmas I am not sure if he is going to sell, but he is so cute that I am totally okay if he doesn't.

This year we took our origami advent and hung it all over the tree. Inside are four candies for each of us ,except the baby, to eat as we countdown to Christmas. I think next year I will put scriptures and service projects in each box for a more spiritual Christmas advent.  The snow on the tree is just one of those"snow blankets" you get in the Christmas section. We ripped it up and I put a little piece on each branch. You might notice that the snow looks worse at the bottom, that is my almost-one year old's doing. :) My all time favorite ornaments are the scrolls with scriptures on them.  I made these seven years ago for our first Christmas after we got married, when we had no money. Seriously, all we had on the tree that year was a home made popcorn garland, one box of dollar store candy canes, because you get like ten for a dollar, and these scripture scrolls. With all my other projects going on with blogging, home school, Christmas presents, and sculptures I am so happy to have this tutorial checked off and done!  It is such a great craft because it costs next to nothing and is so classic and pretty.  I am a firm believer that one can never have too many ornaments. And that is probably why I have three Christmas trees up in my house. Not counting any trees smaller than three feet. If I count those then I have seven trees in my house. Here she is! I just finished glitter-flocking her little tree today! She is about ten inches tall and wears a handmade jacket with faux fur on the hood. I am so excited to share with you the EASY instructions on how to make this felt glittered tree. I really am super happy with the way they turned out. Here is what you need: Felt  (I used white) Scissors Glue gun and glue sticks Craft glue Clear glitter Styrofoam cone  (or any cone shaped thing) Note: I didn't use a Styrofoam cone I used a cone shaped wire tree from Dollar Tree last year, but I think they aren't there any more. You can find foam cones at Dollar Tree or any craft store. ____________________________________________ Step one Cut felt into large medium and small strips.  cut 4 large strips (2 in wide) cut 4 medium strips (1 1/2 in wide) cut 2 small strips (1 in wide)   ______________________________________ Step Two Cut deep scallops into each strip ___________________________________ Step three Glue along scalloped edge of each strip and glitter generously.  ____________________________________...
