My own jersey slouch hoodie
Some of you might recognize this jacket from the tiny one I made for my paper mache sculpture girl Jenn. It is was so cute and super easy to make that I had to make one for me! :) I just wish I had taken photos along the way, then I could have made a tutorial for you. I might make one for my daughter though, if I do I'll make sure and take photos along the way. :)

Fashion friday: Ruche
For five years now Trent and I have been longing for a larger piece of land to spread our wings and have enough room for animals. Room enough to easily fit a good size art studio. (Or two.) ;) Living off the grid is a dream of ours. These images from the Ruche fall 2010 look book illustrate well the lifestyle we want, clothes included! :) All you need is a hansom guy painting in the back, a few kids helping garden or playing in the mud, chickens running around, and a few baby goats and it would be even more perfect!

skinny jeans or " jeggings "
New Years resolution #1
Make more clothes for myself .
I was talking to a friend Sunday and found out we both had resolutions to spend less time looking at sewing blogs and more time actually sewing!
So I made some old jeans into skinny jeans the other day. The result is super tight jeans that, "make me lose about 20 lbs" -says my husband. Awesome right?! I love them!
To make them I did the same basic idea as this tutorial.

Your mothers dress
{ just not the way she'd wear it }
I just got back from another awesome trip to visit family in Colorado. While I was there I was in awe every time my little sister dressed for school. One day she even wore a retro prom dress with a cute floral cardigan on top. I keep telling her to start a blog with photos of all the clothes she wears. But my little sis lives her life "unplugged". As opposed to your everyday modern 15 year old, my sister has no cell phone and almost never checks her email or Facebook. I admire this about her. I took photos of a few of her outfits to post here on my blog. Maybe I'll make a kind of mini series. We thought the title was appropriate since the dress actually is our moms.
Here is what it looked like "in the raw".

In the mood for spring fashion
(images via Boden)
I wish I could prance around in sandals and pretty spring frocks! Alas our warmer weather (50 degrees is warm for Logan) is probably not here for good. My hubby would look so great in one of those jackets!

Dress obsessed
I am currently obsessed with dresses right now. So when I found this article in the latest Lucky Magazine I couldn't help swooning and scanning. I totally adore the belted sweater look! And just look at those shoes! But I have been having a hard time finding good dresses, so any feedback regarding any steals and deals on pretty dresses I'd love to know. I've been disappointed in the selection at Ross lately. Cheers!

Lovely fashion inspiration
I am just in love with these clothes by iro-iro. I came across their site via a lovely blog called red aprons & lunch boxes. The details and colors are so lovely I just had to post about them. I can't read a darn thing on the entire site but the images were mesmerizing. Hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I did.
P.S. My printer broke so I edited and made changes to the big give-away so peek back to see whats up. And if you haven't entered yet you still have a week. :)
