three blues

Here we have the three blues all on one wall. The bright one, is the first color. The white looking one is the one we went out to buy last night. And the gray little blob is actually a color my husband mixed himself using the too white color we bought. We went with the gray blob color.

Before (left) : the ugly bright baby blue

After (right) : the gray blue my husband mixed

We love how it tuned out!
It helps having a husband who, as an artist, mixes colors for a living :)

collection

I just wanted to share my collection of thrift-ed milk glass.

the wrong blue

Remember this room? It used to be red. My husband and I were ready for a lighter more airy color so we went with a blue. We were wanting slate gray blue and it ended up being bright baby blue. Yuck! We lived with it for two days, couldn't stand it and just bought another lighter grayer color, hopefully it will be better. I'll keep you posted.

playing with toys

I got out the animals and plastic play dishes all because I just wanted to take pretty photos. The kids thought this was great seeing mom play with their toys. Fun was had by all.

Lazy day

You know those days where you stay in your pj's all day and literally never step outside? Well that's today for me. I just cuddled with my little sweeties, relaxed on the couch a little, ate pretend birthday cake, and built robot arms out of rapping paper tubes. Just look at this guy, could you possibly resist the urge to kiss every inch of his face? It's practically impossible! He just emits love. Have I told you yet that he is the best baby ever? Well he is! He sleeps 6-7 hrs at night regularly, and almost never cries. I love my little owl baby!

cupcakes

We made Valentine cupcakes today! I have always loved flag cupcake toppers.

I may be weird but I refuse to buy them because they're just tooth pics with paper on them, yet I never have managed to make them to my liking till yesterday.
All we did was take sticker mailing labels and fold them in half over a tooth pick and decorate them with a Sharpie. (OK these probably aren't tooth picks.. they're...what the heck are these anyway?) What fun! You could print images or text on them if you don't want to use a marker. I love it when inspiration strikes! Next time I think I'll cut them into triangles just for fun!!

lace and doillies table setting

What a fun time I had setting and photographing this Valentines table spread. I'm noticing that recently I have been a little obsessed with lace and doilies. :)I made origami boxes out of grocery bags for the favors on each plate and hand cut/hole punched the larger doilies under each place setting. It turned out great, in fact I love it so much we eat at the bar now so as not to ruin all the "prettyness".
