yo ho yo ho

My son's birthday is coming up so I thought I'd get myself back into the blogging world to share these invitations I just made. The black flags are made from stiff felt and the scull was made by carving a stamp out of a tiny apple I picked from my back yard. The back of the invitations are made from a vintage map I scanned. My favorite part is that the felt turns into a pirate flag!

I can't believe I haven't blogged for three months.
Why was I gone for three months you ask? Well I am currently four months pregnant so... lets just say my keyboard is grateful because I couldn't toss any cookies onto it if I stayed away. Please forgive me the long long break I took but seriously I wasn't doing anything too exciting. I'm feeling great now and we are super excited. We will find out the sex of the baby next week!

Hey! Congratulations on the pregnancy! How exciting! Your two kids are SO cute! I love the photographs you've gotten of them.
I LOVE your blog!! I have looked through almost every post you have done and they are so much fun! I love all your creative ideas, you inspire me :) I'm going to have to do some of those things too, now ;)
It's good to see you again and hear how your life is going. I always wonder what people are doing.
And your house is so cool! Where are you guys going to be moving to? I'm excited to see what you do with the next one :)

It's me again :) I just wanted to say that I'm in love with your paintings and your papier mache figurines. Your characters really have such innate charm! And all your crafty ideas are so fun!
So I have some questions...how do you do your photos in picture blocks and creative sets? What program do you use? And how did you do your blog title block like that? I want to learn how to do stuff like that. You can email me if you want at elise.zvirzdin@gmail.com
Thanks! I'm looking forward to hearing from you :)

I'm not sure why Ireland is included in Great Britain. I scanned it from a really old history book.

That is such a cool idea to carve a skull out of an apple! I hope that when I have kids I can throw as cute as parties as you and your sister do for your kids (:
